ART INTERNATIONAL ZURICH 2025: A Cultural Journey Through Switzerland

From 23 to 25 May 2025, Zurich will become the beating heart of the international art world. ART INTERNATIONAL ZURICH will take place in the creative district of Puls 5, where artists and galleries from all over the globe gather for a weekend of contemporary art. But Switzerland is more than just one city or one fair. If you're heading to Zurich for art, it's well worth broadening your horizons.

Zurich – Creative Engine

Kurztrip nach Zürich: 3 Tage in der Schweiz mit zentralem Apartment und ...

Zurich is a city of dual identities: modern and historic, businesslike and artistic. Its charming Old Town is full of medieval alleys, small galleries, bookstores and boutique hotels. Just outside the city centre lies Zurich West, a former industrial area now buzzing with creative energy. Puls 5, the location of the art fair, is located here.

Don’t miss the Kunsthaus Zürich – one of the country’s leading art museums – with works by Munch, Giacometti, van Gogh and contemporary Swiss artists. And when the day is done? Enjoy a drink by Lake Zurich with views of snow-capped mountains in the distance.

Luzern

Luzern – Romance

Just an hour from Zurich lies Lucerne, a city so picturesque it almost looks unreal. The wooden Chapel Bridge, old watchtowers and crystal-clear Lake Lucerne provide the perfect backdrop for a peaceful stopover or day trip.

Lucerne also holds its own in the art world. The Rosengart Museum houses an impressive collection of Paul Klee and Pablo Picasso – intimately presented in a former bank building. A boat ride on the lake or a trip to the top of Mount Pilatus completes the experience.

Basel city guide – Food, bars, things to do – Time Out

Basel – Art on the Rhine

True art lovers can’t skip Basel. This city on the Rhine is Switzerland’s cultural powerhouse, and you can feel it on every corner. The Kunstmuseum Basel is world-renowned, with a collection spanning from the old masters to contemporary greats. Modern art fans will love the Tinguely Museum with its lively kinetic installations.

Basel is also an architectural gem. Buildings by Herzog & de Meuron, Renzo Piano and other big names turn the city into an open-air museum. Best of all: you can lose yourself in narrow lanes full of galleries and design shops.

Bern – Quiet and Style

The Best Things to See in Bern, the Capital of Switzerland

Switzerland’s capital Bern is much calmer than Zurich or Basel – and that’s exactly its charm. Its Old Town – a UNESCO World Heritage Site – is filled with sandstone buildings, elegant arcades and a relaxed atmosphere. Stroll at your leisure past small museums, bookshops and artist studios.

For art lovers, two highlights stand out: the Kunstmuseum Bern and the futuristic Zentrum Paul Klee, designed by Renzo Piano. Let yourself be drawn into the playful, dreamy world of Klee – a perfect match for Bern’s understated elegance.

An Artistic Journey to Remember

ART INTERNATIONAL ZURICH 2025 is the perfect starting point for an inspiring journey through some of Switzerland’s most beautiful cities. From the creative energy of Zurich to the serenity of Bern, from Lucerne’s mirror-like lake to Basel’s artistic intensity – every destination offers a fresh perspective on what art can be.
