Kungsleden Map & Guide is a 5-set series that covers the trail between Abisko and Hemavan, produced in cooperation with the Swedish Tourist Association. Each part consists of a waterproof mountain map in scale 1:50 000 and a guide that describes the Kungsleden stages with information about distance, approximate hiking time, mountain information such as shelters, bridges and assistance phones, route descriptions, accommodation along the way and practical tips. The stages are described for hiking or skiing in both north and south bound direction adjusted to locations of STF Mountain Cabins and STF Mountain stations where accommodation is possible. Cabins and stations are presented with photos and information about facilities such as number of beds, provisions, are pets allowed, is there an assistance phone on site and much more. There´s also information about alternative accommodation and which stages that require camping. In places where you can find alternative routes/detours these are shown on the map and recommended STF accommodations along these sections are listed in the guide. Each guide starts with practical information which can help you prepare for your hiking experience. For example: What should I consider when staying in an STF Mountain Cabin? Practical tips for your hike, trail markers, snowmobile, equipment, weather, navigation and more. All descriptions and information are in Swedish and English.
