The depicted vegetation, contour lines, petroglyphs and mountain shadows create an intuitive map image of the landscape.
About the region: Achensee: The Achensee, Tyrol's largest lake, is surrounded by majestic mountains. The region offers numerous hiking trails for all levels of difficulty, from leisurely walks along the lake to challenging climbs of the peaks of the Rofan and Karwendel mountains. The blue-green water glistens serenely and, moved by a light breeze, sloshes against the rugged cliffs. The rocky shore rises steeply to unimaginable heights, above which the blue sky sparkles. This idyllic setting is not on a Norwegian fjord, even though at first glance it looks like one, but in the heart of Tyrol, on the Achensee. The Karwendel is sandwiched between the Seefelder Plateau, the Achensee and the Inntal. It is accessible from both the Tyrolean Inntal and the Bavarian side. The hikes and mountain tours offer magnificent scenery, but are sometimes challenging.
