Description
The DAV map pointer is a practical and universally applicable tool for working with topographic maps. It provides valuable services for tour preparation and orientation in the field.
Different scale bars make it easier to determine the distance on the maps 1:25 000 and 1:50 000. The user has two different grids at his disposal for exact location information with coordinates (e.g. UTM) in topographic maps. Coordinates measured with the GPS are also easier to transfer to the map with it.
With the map protractor (360 °) direction angles, e.g. B. were determined with a compass, transferred with the bearing line in topographic maps. Directions can also be read from the map for setting on the compass. The reading of the angle is done with the help of a thin nylon thread (direction finding cord) to one degree.
For the map scale 1: 25,000 and 1: 50,000 there is an inclination scale for determining the slope in degrees from the map. By comparing the scale distances with the distance between two neighboring contour lines, the slope inclination between 10 ° and 60 ° can be determined. This is particularly important information when assessing the avalanche danger.
The DAV map pointer, made of weatherproof, transparent film in the format 12x20 cm, with detailed instructions for use. Completely revised version!
